reddwarfslashThere's probably an earlier post about this, so apologies for the duplication, but are there many slashers going to Dimension Jump? Will there be a slashers meet-up at some point over the weekend? I'm so torn about whether to register or not. I know I'll regret it if I don't, but as someone who's a bit quiet and shy I'm terrified of the thought of being sat awkwardly in a corner for a weekend! Anyone feel like talking me into it?!

Most people do but certainly not everybody. And to be honest, as long as you're staying fairly close by it won't make much odds. I'd be surprised if the Holiday Inn had sold out already - we've not had any news of that yet.

Date: 2013-01-19 07:29 pm (UTC)I've been going to cons on my own since 1995, but I usually meet up with some people I know at the con. I have done quite a few cons where I've known no one, and had a very good time regardless. I talked to people at my table (I bought a dinner with the guests), chatted with those around me in the autograph lines, and had pleasant conversations with those seated around me for the talks. There's one thing about conventions that "mundanes" don't understand - we go into them with something in common with everyone attending. We're all fans of that show/actor, and it's usually sci-fi based so we all have something in common to discuss.
My question is, are we skewed more toward Chris/Rimmer fans, or will there be more Craig/Danny/Bobby fans to counteract our small group? :)
