Hopefully I can be excused on the grounds that my brain has turned to Christmas stress related mush, but I think it's just about relevant to this comm. :p

Would you say the Boyz are more attractive in their days of extreme cuteness (Series 2 era especially) or in their more mature stage circa Series VII?  I simply cannot decide.

Feel free to back up your arguments with pics. ;)

As far as their looks go, I have no preference. Uniforms and hair styles, yes, but overall, I've liked them all since 1988 (or whenever I started watching on PBS). If I had to pick an overall look, I'd say series 3. I liked the slimmer hat on Lister, I liked the green (and red in series 4) outfit on Rimmer, and Cat was getting wilder outfits.

White long johns, you say?

As for our baby-faced Lister...

Has anyone seen these yet or did I completely miss the post?

Ooh, I hadn't seen these. Something very intimate about them, isn't there? I suppose because they're close-up and there's no distracting background, so you really focus on his face and eyes.

I could basically write an essay on this whole subject, but for me personally, series V-VI Chris is my favourite. That's when his bod and costumes were at their finest ;-)
Anyone here who knows me will know that I'm a Lister girl and love him the whole way through. However, if I had to choose between adorable baby Lister or older wiser Lister, I would go older. He's just SO boyish in the first few series. I do think he's particularly handsome in S2,4,5 &7 though. I didn't love the baggy boiler suit in S6. If I had to choose an overall favourite series for him it would probably be S7. Physically he looked in great shape, but I also think it was the series where he'd really made the transition from boy to man and the big gap between 6-7 (and what Craig had been through in the meantime) kind of throws it into sharp relief. Series 7 Lister was all grown-up and SMOKIN' hot :-)

And yes, there were the white long johns too...

You know, maybe I just have issues and stuff, but I actually love those fine little strands of grey you can see in his hair. To me, the whole 'older guy' thing has always been rather appealing and I quite like seeing him make the transition from 'beautiful young boy' to 'handsome mature man'. It gives him an air of gravitas that he didn't have in youth. And the thing about confident, self-assured older men with gravitas, is they make my inner sub go weak at the knees :-)

The charm of experience indeed :-)

The heart wants what the heart wants. Now have weird fic idea where the Boys meet up with their younger selves and Listy takes some time to teach his young self everything he knows...

Did you happen to see the exceptionally young photo of Craig that his Funk & Soul Show posted on their Facebook page? I posted it here: http://lordvalerymimes.livejournal.com/887.html

If you're ever needing to get that youthful image back into your head again, that will surely do the trick. ;)

'Objects in the mirror may be older than they appear'.

Heh heh heh.

Oh dear, I'm getting a bit of inspiration from that. Mind if I snag that as a title? I'll give you full credit, although it might be months before I actually finish writing anything. It's that time of year when there's no time. :D
