Aww. I love this, perhaps more than anything else of yours I've read in awhile. I love the characterisation and the plot and how the whole thing works its way up to the ending - it's brilliant.

Especially squee-inducing were:

Lister plopped down in a chair next to Rimmer. "We're going exploring! It has an S3 atmosphere, so Cat and I can breathe."

"Pity," Rimmer muttered.

and Lister focussing on Rimmer's lightbee - that was very suddenly intense, nicely done. (And the little lightbee warnings were great! :) )

I had the mental image of Lister getting fed up and grabbing the bee, and the rest of the fic got built around that. It's a frustrating situation all 'round.
