Lister followed as quickly as his short legs would take him.

Aww. I love this, perhaps more than anything else of yours I've read in awhile. I love the characterisation and the plot and how the whole thing works its way up to the ending - it's brilliant.

Especially squee-inducing were:

and Lister focussing on Rimmer's lightbee - that was very suddenly intense, nicely done. (And the little lightbee warnings were great! :) )

Ah, very good point; I need to stop with the tall=good. It comes from the fact that I live in a place where people are quite tall generally (making my 5'6 average). I have a collection of platform boots and high heels, and I generally only like men taller than 6 feet. With probably just one exception (http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/deck06/images/image_bank/8-7l.jpg)... (That chart is beyond handy. And it's metric!)
