Nice. Thought provoking to an extent; bit of a hopeless feel to it. I liked the last bit, it conveyed alot while not really going into detail about it.
Sometime between the almost-off indigo of night and the grimy purple of morning, Lister would fall into snoring repose, a can of lager typically balanced gently in his armpit. This is me after we've finished writing. ;)
Lister sleeping in his bunk... *happy sigh*
Rimmer lay in the observation bubble, watching the stars. Yay observation bubble! I've missed you!
Lister laughed and turned back to his join-the-dots book. *dies from the cute*
"Well, they're crunchy, sir. Have you eaten curries here?" *eeep*
Aaah, boys. Stupid, silly boys... Hm... I do have a story that was originally set in series I that might be tweaked to fit in after this one... It was inspired by "Appliance" after all...
Thanks for the lovely feedback! Hmm, now I'll have that mental image whenever we write. ;)
I miss the observation bubble, too. I think it went the way of the bunk scene (looks at fictional boys and shakes head).
Yay! I'm dying to see Lister's take on some of this. I wasn't sure if it was clear that he was masturbating in Rimmer's bunk while Rimmer was gone, but I didn't think it worked to make it anything but somewhat implied.
Oh, trust me, it was clear to everyone but Kryten. And only barely that! It's wrong that I started thinking "well, tumeric isn't what gives it color anyway; it just changes the color (insert long mental rambling about curry preparation)." I mean, I realize that was sort of the point. ;)
