Concrit always appreciated; even more so, if possible, when I write Lister. I had to - Rimmer isn't talking to me right now. :p

Rereading it, I can see some influence of Kahvi's Why, too.

Lister concentrated hard on his comic book. He had read the dialog bubble three times without understanding a word, and he was determined to actually move to the next one after the fourth rereading. Oh. 'Die now.' That was pretty straightforward.

He continued to read, glancing up now and then to judge Rimmer's mood. He glanced at those lips, and wondered if Cat had kissed them.

Lister rather liked the idea that he had not.

Ah, yes, the perfect ending. *sigh*

Lister's thoughts throughout: Excellent. I particularly liked the curiositiy tinged with disgust, and his confusion as to how those emotions fitted together.

A cat with a barbed penis, no less! :p I didn't put it in the fic, but I thought about it - the Cat releasing some kind of pheremones that would make a potential partner more laid-back and receptive (yes, I know Rimmer's a hologram - if he can be affected by the despair squid ink, he can be affected by Cat-pheremones, dammit). That would also account for the goofy grin...

Yeah, I have to think about that. I think even the boys were running out of nicknames for Kryten's head by the end of VI! I'm surprised they never went to Fullerene or Buckyballs, though.
